Our own offer from Mallorca Plus
Car registration in Mallorca: we take care of it
We get your car from another EU country onto Spanish plates. You pay €399 for our work, and what the authorities charge is listed below, item by item. It usually takes 4 to 8 weeks.
We handle the registration for you: checking the documents, booking the appointments, running the case. You hear in English where it stands.
We handle the registration for you and work with a licensed partner who files the application with the traffic authority. We name that partner in the quote, before you commit to anything.

Who does what
This is how the work is split:
Mallorca Plus
- Pre-check of your case
- Checking and preparing the documents
- Communication with you in English
- ITV and garage appointments
- Fixed fee for our part
What you do yourself
- Bring the vehicle to the assigned ITV appointment, unless you add the inspection service
- Collect the Ficha Técnica (Tarjeta ITV) at the station after the inspection
- Have defects repaired and present the vehicle again for the re-inspection
The process in five steps
- 1
Request and pre-check
You send us your selection, the key vehicle details and your documents. We check whether your case is straightforward.
Duration: 1 to 2 working days
- 2
Payment and start
If everything fits, you get the payment link through our payment provider. Only once your payment arrives do we start the registration. If a document is missing, we tell you now, not the authority in three weeks.
Duration: depends on you, usually 1 to 2 weeks
- 3
ITV and technical documents
The car is presented at the ITV, in Palma or Manacor depending on the assignment, where the technical data sheet for Spain is issued. With the add-on we handle the presentation, and on request the trip there as well. The assigned appointment is binding and cannot be moved.
Duration: usually 3 to 6 weeks, depending on appointment availability
- 4
Taxes and application to the DGT
The registration tax and the municipal vehicle tax are assessed and paid, then the application goes to the DGT.
Duration: 1 to 2 weeks
- 5
Plates and registration
The DGT assigns the plate number, the plates are made, and you receive the Spanish registration certificate (Permiso de Circulación).
Duration: 1 to 3 working days
How the authorities handle each step is explained in our guide: how re-registration works.
Which documents you need
This list is provisional. After your inquiry you upload each document separately or tell us why it is missing. We confirm in the quote which documents your case actually needs.
Needed to start
- Passport or ID cardClearly legible, both sides for ID cards.
- NIE or DNIThe certificate showing your Spanish identification number. Without it the car cannot be registered in Spain.
- Vehicle registration certificate (part I)The registration document of the car, all pages.
- Vehicle registration certificate (part II, or equivalent ownership document)The original. If a bank holds it, let us know early.
- EU Certificate of Conformity (COC)Issued by the manufacturer. If you do not have one, tick that it is missing when you upload your documents and briefly say why. That is exactly the case we look into.
If you have it
- Certificate of registration at the town hall (empadronamiento)If you have one: a recent certificate from your municipality in Mallorca. You can submit your documents without it.
Can follow later
- Proof of Spanish insuranceWe tell you when you need to take it out.
- ITV reportIssued at the inspection, you do not need it beforehand.
- Power of attorney for the processWe prepare it for you to sign.
Only in certain cases
- Purchase contract or invoiceIf the registration certificate still shows someone else, you claim the moving exemption or the car was new when you bought itThe DGT requires it if you are not named on the registration certificate. The tax agency needs the purchase invoice for the moving exemption (Modelo 06) and, if the car was new when you bought it, for VAT. From a dealer this is the invoice, from a private seller the purchase contract.
- Seller's IDIf the registration certificate names someone other than youIf the registration certificate names someone else, the registration office needs a copy of that person's ID alongside the purchase contract. Passport or ID card, clearly legible, both sides for ID cards.
- Company documentsIf the car is registered to a companyThe company's tax ID and proof that the person signing is authorised to represent it.
- Consent from the bank or leasing companyIf the car is leased or financedIn writing and referring to this vehicle.
What it costs, in detail
You pay two separate amounts: our service fee when you order, and the official costs once they have been billed. We pass on the second amount without a markup.

Why does this cost more than doing it yourself? The official costs are the same either way and are listed in the table above, item by item. The fixed fee pays for the work before and after: obtaining and checking documents, booking appointments, answering follow-up questions, and one contact person who replies in English.
When it gets expensive or complicated
Most cars from the EU go through without surprises. These cases do not, and we tell you beforehand whether yours is one of them.
No EU Certificate of Conformity (COC)
Without a COC, the car needs an individual vehicle approval. For a passenger car, our research for the cost calculator puts this at between 200 and 2,000 EUR (as of September 2026), plus weeks of waiting. This is the most expensive special case.
Registered modifications
Different wheels, a tow bar, lowered suspension: in Spain, every change from the factory specification needs its own approval with a technical report. What that costs depends on the scope. We tell you before you place an order.
Classic cars
Cars that are to be registered as historic vehicles go through a separate procedure with different documents. Our fixed fee does not cover this.
Cars from outside the EU
If the car comes from Switzerland or the United Kingdom, for example, customs duty and import VAT are due before registration, and different documents are required. This is not included in the fixed fee either.
Expired roadworthiness inspection
If the roadworthiness inspection in your home country has expired, the car may no longer be driven, not even to the ITV. Temporary plates do not help here, because they are only issued with the registration application after the ITV. The car then has to be transported to the inspection.
Leasing or financing
If the bank or leasing company holds the ownership document, you need their written consent and the original. How quickly that arrives is out of our hands.
Pre-check for €49
Not sure whether your car can be registered easily? After your inquiry you upload the vehicle documents, on your phone directly with the camera if you like. We tell you whether an individual vehicle approval is likely, which documents are missing and what to expect.
- Check of the vehicle documents for modifications and missing details
- Assessment of whether an individual vehicle approval is needed
- List of the documents still missing in your case
What we need for it
- Vehicle registration certificate (part I)
- Vehicle registration certificate (part II, or equivalent ownership document)
- EU Certificate of Conformity (COC)
- Purchase contract or invoice (If the registration certificate still shows someone else, you claim the moving exemption or the car was new when you bought it)
- Consent from the bank or leasing company (If the car is leased or financed)
If a document is missing, the COC for example, you tick that when uploading and briefly say why.
If you then order the full registration, we credit the €49 in full.

If you would rather do it yourself
You can, and we have written a separate guide for it. Reading it also shows how much work is involved.
- Register your car yourself, step by step

Even if you do it yourself, you can have your documents checked first: with the pre-check for €49.
