What to expect
The Dijous Bo, the good Thursday, is the biggest fair in the Balearics and an unofficial holiday for many Mallorcans. On this day the entire town centre of Inca turns into one big fairground: hundreds of stalls line the streets, alongside exhibition areas for farming and livestock, agricultural machinery, cars, crafts and the leather goods for which Inca is traditionally known. Tens of thousands of visitors from all over the island pour into the town on this Thursday, and many businesses give their staff the day off.
The date follows a fixed rule: the Dijous Bo closes Inca's autumn fair season and falls on the Thursday after the three preceding Sunday fairs, usually in mid to late November. In 2026 it is 19 November, and the Friday after is a local holiday in Inca. For 2027 the rule points to 18 November.
Alongside the stalls, the programme includes animal displays, the traditional livestock market, folklore, cooking demonstrations and tastings of Mallorcan products. For many visitors the Dijous Bo is also one big shopping stroll: the town's shoe and leather shops open with special offers, and if you are looking for Christmas presents you will often find them here. The fair has its roots in the Middle Ages and remains the most important date of the year for the town.
Practical tips
- Getting there: The train is the best choice: the Palma-Inca line runs at high frequency on fair day and the station is right next to the action. By car you will sit in traffic, and the access roads and car parks fill up early.
- Crowds: The Dijous Bo is one of the best attended events on Mallorca. From 10 in the morning it gets packed; early morning is the most relaxed time to wander.
- Costs: Entry is free; you pay for food, tastings and purchases yourself.
- Weather: Mid November can be cool and rainy. The fair goes ahead in almost any weather, so pack sturdy shoes and a jacket.
